PRACTICE MERGE OVERVIEW

Accounting Firm MergerThis firm, based in Johannesburg northern suburbs, is expanding to Pretoria where they have clients already. They are looking for a local partner that will become part of their group; you will take on their name and brand and be their local office.

They operate in the Accounting space and also IRBA space. The idea is that you would then be driving the local office as a fully fledged partner,

They have fees in the R7.5m per annum range currently and have two partners:

They have a few requirements, and they are:

  • They would like to merge their accounting firm, with someone, Downstream to consolidate their position in the Accounting space and expand to Pretoria and Centurion. Centurion is a preference.
  • This is also a succession planning exercise, so if you are younger, the opportunity exists to exit them over time.
  • Accounting, non-IRBA services, Financial management and accounting, Independent reviews, Income Tax, basic SAIPA work. Advisory Services.
  • They are happy to buy a portion of the firm and merge the balance if that would work better for you with an agreed exit strategy.
  • As a second preference, they will also consider a sideways merger with a firm the same size as them.
